Terms of Use

Mealody ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Matt Collis, a sole trader registered in Australia (ABN 50 865 504 657). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Mealody app.
By downloading or using Mealody, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
1. What Mealody Does
Mealody is an entertainment and inspiration app. It uses artificial intelligence to turn your music selections into a mood profile, and to suggest recipes, food imagery, and related information. It is not a nutrition tracker, dietary planner, allergy checker, or medical tool, and should not be used or relied on as one.
2. AI-Generated Content
Recipes, ingredient lists, cooking instructions, nutritional values, and images in Mealody are generated by artificial intelligence. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, or unsuitable for your individual dietary requirements. We do not review or verify individual recipes, and we make no guarantee that any recipe is accurate, safe, suitable, or fit for any particular purpose — including any food-safety information such as cooking times and temperatures.
You are solely responsible for verifying ingredients, allergens, food safety (including cooking times and temperatures), nutritional values, and suitability for your personal circumstances before purchasing, preparing, or consuming any dish.
3. Allergens Are Your Responsibility
You acknowledge and agree that AI-generated recipes may list, omit, substitute, or mis-state ingredients, and may contain — or fail to identify — allergens or other ingredients unsuitable for you.
You are solely responsible for checking every ingredient for allergens and dietary suitability before buying, preparing, or eating any dish. If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or other dietary restriction, do not rely on Mealody to identify it for you.
4. Nutritional Information Is an Estimate
Calorie counts and macronutrient values (protein, carbohydrates, fat) shown in Mealody are AI-generated estimates intended only as a rough guide. They are not measured or verified and may be inaccurate.
Do not rely on Mealody's nutritional information for medical, dietary, or health decisions — including managing conditions such as diabetes, or tracking intake for medical reasons. Mealody is not a substitute for professional dietary, nutritional, or medical advice.
5. No Warranty; Use at Your Own Risk
Mealody is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You use the app, and any recipe or information it provides, at your own risk.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, illness, or damage arising from your use of Mealody or your reliance on any AI-generated content, including recipes, ingredients, allergen information, cooking instructions, or nutritional values.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Subscriptions, Trials & Billing
Mealody offers an optional auto-renewing subscription ("Mealody Premium") with a free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple or Google account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, use it for any unlawful purpose, or rely on it in any way that could put your health or anyone else's at risk.
9. Your Account
You may stop using Mealody at any time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data within the app or by contacting us at hello@mealody.org, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes we will notify you within the app. The date and version at the top of this page reflect the most recent update.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
